My ION Design can register and maintain a unique Domain Name for you or your business. Once your Domain Name has been registered, Cyberlink can host the Domain Name for you and provide email and web hosting services based on the new domain. Advantages

A unique domain name gives permanency to your Universal Resource Locator (URL) -- the address on the World Wide Web (WWW) where a Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) document or Web Page is stored -- and your Email address. A unique domain name can be carried from one ISP to another thereby ensuring that your URL and Email addresses will remain the same despite the ISP you choose to use to access the Internet.

This ensures that while the physical location of your organization's Web Server may change, your site will still be found at the same address it always was, thereby ensuring those people who use your site will always be able to find it.

A unique domain name is also more personalized towards the individual organization. As such it can make it easier for people looking for that organization to find it. (E.g. www.yourcompany.com)

While most email addresses give some indication as to whom the email is being sent to, they can at times be misleading.

username@yourisp.com tells whom the email should be sent to but tells nothing of the organization to which this person may belong.

companyname@yourisp.com reflects which organization the email is being sent to but gives no information on whom the recipient at said organization will be.

In addition to being more personalized to the organization, an email address with a unique domain name and username takes on a less ambiguous nature as in username@yourcompany.com

What if I already have a domain name registered?

If you've already registered a domain name you are responsible for the ICANN fees for the registration itself.

If your domain name is close to expiration we can transfer your domain names to our registrar. Once the domain is transfered Cyberlink will assume all ICANN/CIRA charges while the domain is hosted with us. To complete a registrar transfer for yoru domain you must notify us at least 60 days before the domain name expires.
